Handmade Goat’s Milk Soaps

We purchased our first goats in the Spring of 2021.  This included our herd Queen, Stella, her two babies and one unrelated buck for breeding.  Neither me or my husband had any previous experience with livestock animals, so we knew this was going to be an adventure.  With the help of our church family we moved and slowly transformed a carport into our goat barn.  Initially using pallets to create separate pens for the does and bucks. The inspiration to make soap and other body care products out of the milk from our goats came from the realization that goats can be expensive pets to keep. Also, having sensitive skin myself, I appreciate products which use natural ingredients to minimize skin irritation and feel it is important to know what I am putting on and in my body.  Thus our journey had begun.  Each day brings new lessons.  We have had to learn how to care for our goats, what their behaviors may mean, caring for their health and developing new relationships with farmers for food, etc.  We also began learning about the various ingredients used in skin care, what works for us and what others may need or want.  Learning about the care of goats and the care of our skin will be a lifelong process.  God has given us so many good things to use we only need to prayerfully consider how to use them in accordance with His intended purpose so that we may fully reap the benefits. We are trusting God with the plan for our lives and this business.  Our desire is to honor Him in all we do, and to share the knowledge we gain of body care products with you.  Our goal is to keep our products as natural as possible and to include quality local farmers’ products as they are available to us.  What began as a hobby is being transformed and transforming us in the process!  We invite you to join us on the journey of skin care discovery and welcome you to our site. We encourage you to email us at ktaylor@riverbirchlane.com with any questions, concerns or suggestions. Thank you for stopping by -Kristin, Dan, and the Herd
